Before joining Chapter One, Maria spent the early part of her career in the creator economy, investing in artists and managing a portfolio of ~$18M in sales at Capital Music Group (Universal). Prior to CMG she led the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), and served as an advisor to founders in the Texas startup ecosystem. Maria is also the founder of UTalent Records, and Co-Founder of an early-stage music fractionalization experiment called stoi.org.

Maria holds a BBA in Investment Management from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. She is trilingual, and originally from Sofia, Bulgaria.
